The summer break is very important, keeping student learning for their academic development. Though, as educator, we have no control over if our students continue learning through the summer break or not. What we can do is help families and parents learn how they can retain their children busy during the summer vacation by sharing a fun, low cost summer learning activities with them. Many families want to keep their children learning but they do not spend their all money on summer programs that are costly. Here are some low cost summer breaks learning tips that will help parents before they go home for the break.
1. Recreational activities at the park department
The department of local parks usually offers low cost or free summer learning activities during the months of summer. Some cities offer games, art and crafts, while others offer low cost babysitting where children can play sport. It is wise for parents to take benefit of these offers, because it is great way to children learning during the summer.
2. Volunteering to help others
When you help someone in need, this feeling is best feeling. There are many volunteer opportunities in the community that can teach and help change their perspective on life. Children can volunteer to assist out an elderly neighbor, relatives and other persons. If you like to be outside, then you can volunteer to be attendant of playground or work at the departments of park and help the community pick up trash.

Make sure these activities will help you thrive, not only during the summer but also all year. Most significantly, all of these activities will retain your kids’ minds and bodies active, keep you healthy and worry-free, and stop the kids from saying “I’m bored”.
