Abstract:

In the paper development of the Ajax, the project has been discussed. The main purpose of the paper is to provide further information for continuing the Ajax project by project manager Tran. Initially, an introduction is provided that helps readers to understand what this paper will include, and information of the CEBEX organization that was founded by DOD or the US department of defense. A literature review has been provided in the paper that focused on alpha testing and design thinking within the software challenges. From the literature review of two selected research papers, it has been analyzed that how Alpha testing will perform in further phases of the Ajax project, and how Tran will able to manage a project and its team for successful completion.

Introduction:

This paper is based on the case study of the Ajax project developing and managing by the CEBEX organization, this organization is providing high tech security system projects, and these projects are funded by DOD or the US department of defense. The Ajax project is managing by Tran as the senior project manager. The annual sale of CEBEX company is more than $30 billion and also they have more than 120,000 employees in their organization, they working in 5 main business area that are electronic systems, Aeronautics, integrated system and solutions, information & technology services, and the system of space. The Ajax project is sponsored by the division of integrated systems & solutions for the business of homeland security. This paper or report will be focused on the Alpha testing that is involved in every phase of the Ajax project development, this paper will provide information on how five tests can be conducted successfully for the Ajax project and how Tran or the project manager can manage them effectively.

Ajax project:

The Ajax project is sponsored by the integrated system & solutions for homeland security. In the project, Tran has 2 main concerns about the project first was the technical risks in the project and the second was splitting the team of electrical and hardware engineers. The team of electrical and hardware engineers was also resolving the technical issues and problems side by side. In their project planning, Tran has been created 5 tests in every phase of the development Ajax project. The testing was mainly conducted for verification of overall system performance. In the project the Alpha testing is one of the most important in the Ajax project development by the CEBEX company, to pass every milestone and take the project into the next phase will be required more effectively to produce better results, and the design thinking is important for challenges and problem in the project development.

Literature review:

According to Ferreira Martins, et al., 2019, the agile methods are the best fit for different types of software development. In their research paper then brought challenges to the companies for adopting the traditional methods, also with new methods. They have been used design thinking for requirement elicitation methods, & also for immersion in the processes, this process is helpful to get closer with a client for all the software requirements. In their paper, they have been provided a literature review, that helped collect the requirements of software in the agile methods, and they have been used in the design thinking process. The result within the case study in the Brazilian organization, with the 20 items. To identify the practice of design thinking, they have been proposed 13 challenges, and 8 of them were strong evidence of the stakeholder’s contribution, and involvement, scheduling, validation, requirement details. They also have provided 3 partial contribution pieces of evidence & two of them were artifacts uses, nonfunctional requirements, & and changes. In their paper, the main result has been provided the analysis of design thinking, to solve the problems and challenges of software requirement gathering, with the agile methods (Ferreira Martins, et al., 2019.

According to Mohd, &Shahbodin, 2015, in the research paper they have focused on the evaluation of learning science, computer technology that can be improved with various multimedia tools. They have focused on the PLENut or the environment for the nutrition of personalized learning. The PLENut is the multimedia prototype that helps to increase the performance of students in the science of learning by using the PLE approach. In their paper, they have been focused on finding beta, acceptance, and alpha testing, and their result revealed different feedback from various users for the development of a prototype, in the development process and the environment has been examined as per the design, implementation, analysis, development evaluation or simply ADDIE model. To evaluate the applications, they have been used Alpha testing, user acceptance, and beta testing, along with useful information on quality improvements (Mohd, &Shahbodin, 2015).

From the above discussion, it is clear that alpha testing is one of the best approaches to manage the project and test the developed components of the Ajax project in the CEBEX organization.

Alpha testing in Ajax project phases:

It is important that alpha testing is performed successfully in each development phase so that all the errors and bugs can easily identify before deliver or install the Ajax project. So the team of Tran has been done alpha testing in 3 phases, and they have been identified various issues, in the first phase the Alpha testing 1 was conducted and to resolve the issues team has taken 2 weeks, and they have worked very hard to cover the time that they spend in problem-solving. In the second phase, alpha testing 2 was performed and it took 3 weeks for solving issues.

Now Tran has to perform alpha testing in the third, fourth, and fifth phases of the development to ensure the good quality and high performance of the new Ajax project.

To perform the alpha testing Tran, and its team member included electrical and hardware engineers are required to conduct a meeting and develop some specific goals, for the alpha testing, and integrate the results in the project (Mohd, &Shahbodin, 2015). This alpha testing is included prototype, installation testing. Well defined plan of alpha testing will help Tran to manage each phase of the Ajax project, and analyze its performance along with development.

  • They have to review the specification of the designs & functions requirements of the Ajax project.

  • In the next step, they have to create a test plan and different cases of the test.

  • Developed test cases are required to execute according to plan then identify defects & fix them to implement and deliver the Ajax project to the division of integrated system & solution (Productplan, 2020).

Through these steps of Alpha testing, Tran will able to manage the Ajax project more effectively and complete it with good quality. This alpha testing will be more cost-effective for the CEBEX organization.

Conclusion:

In this paper main focus is on discussing managing the Ajax project, an introduction to the Ajax project and paper is provided initially, this paper is included a literature review to create an understanding of further work required in the project, and how it can be managed successfully. From the literature review, alpha testing is analyzed that is required to perform in further phases. Finally how Tran can manage the project and how alpha testing can perform on the Ajax project is discussed.
