Elon Musk’s Leadership and Twitter: A Personal Reflection

The leadership style of Elon Musk came to scrutiny when he took Twitter. Prior to this always considered Elon Musk to be an ideal leader, but with this case study, I realized that even at such a huge level, there might arise some situations where leaders might fail in their dynamics.

I think that after taking over any company or making any big decisions, it is necessary for the leader to study the dynamics and workings of the place so those wise and forward-looking decisions can be taken. I think this case study is entirely based on the impact that the activities of Elon Musk on Twitter had on the persona and business ventures. I believe that its tweets of Musk after its acquisition were highly controversial and unpredictable and made a huge impact on the stock price of the company. I, from the case study, also observed that employee morale was highly adversely impacted along with the people's perspective.

In the case study, I found certain instances where Elon's tweets sparked controversies and made the consequent potential discussions over it. The most controversial tweet I read was about Tesla private in the year 2018 led to the SEC investigation to undergo and the payment of $20 million for its settlement.

I know there are times when leaders might fail and find their work to be challenging and might professionally get affected. If I imagine myself in this situation then I believe that I might also have taken considerable decisions that might not be integrated or forgotten.

I believe that not only one or two, but Musk made many of his decisions towards Twitter that made the company suffer a lot. Hardcore is not a motivational move to be followed and will result in economic shifts along. Modern workplaces are marathons and not sprints, and thus, hardcore will not work.

I think inspirations need to be laid that are achievable and not set with ambiguous standards, Musk took all these as the core for all his decisions on Twitter that would have surely not been taken. Even in such a position, Musk not only made uninclusive decisions but also carried on illegal actions in the beginning when he fired half of the workforce. I believe that a leader should consider all the good and bad points before taking any decision. As a consequence, Musk might face failure in this field.

Musk should have focused on the admissible work culture and normalizing the effective and right decision-making for growth where he can support more people, and the company and have a better position as a desirable leader.

I think that Elon should be admissibly undertaking as some cases were as a betrayal or treasonous to the workforce of Twitter. The employees should have the courage to fight back and raise their voices in society to promote the right actions and decisions.
