The same rule applies to the companies that have nurseries in different parts of the world to care for the children who are left in the nurseries. The aim of this Unit 15 Managing Business Activities Sample Assignment is to provide learners with the understanding and skills to manage their activities in the business organisation workplace to improve their effectiveness and efficiency.

Understand the importance of business processes in delivering outcomes based upon business goals and objectives.

1.1 Provide a short profile of the nursery and identify and explain the different functions.

FUNCTION	PROCESSES
The High Five Nursery is one of the many nurseries in the area that we operate in and the standard rule of the function of nursery re-followed to the very last word in our nursery and the only thing that differentiates	The High Five Nursery from rest of the nurseries is that even though we cater to a very small group of children we always make it a point to ensure that all the needs and demands of the kids are fulfilled and they are well taken care of in the absence of their parents(Hastings, Brown, 2002).
We are one of the nurseries in the area that makes sure that the well-being of the children is the priority of the management of the nursery.	We not only cater to the well-being and the health of the children but we also make sure that they are provided with proper meals that are nutritious and healthy and at the same time we also take care of the entertainment for the kids.
We have all the means which keep the kids entertained and also at the same they ensure that the kids get a good way learning new things.	We ensure that the people learn hat all they need to learn in their daily life. this is done by one of the best teachers that are available to us.

1.2 Identify four short term objectives of the functions.

• The High Five Nursery is there in the market to not just focus on the goals of the profit and make a place in the market but to also make sure that we help the parents that need help to care to needs of the children that cannot get the attention that they need at home while their parents are out working during the day. This happens to be one of the main functions of The High Five Nursery.
• But in order to make sure that our services are the best among what are already available in the market we have to make sure that there are many other functions that we perform.
• We provide health and safety and nutritious meals to the children to ensure that they have a healthy and an energetic life.
• Our supervisors are there are make sure that the kids are well taken care of and that they feel comfortable in the premises of The High Five Nursery.
• We have all the means to make sure that the kids have a good time in the nursery and they make good friendships at the same time we also teach them good manners and basic social etiquettes.(Covey, 2012)

• Sharing of Ideas: The members collaborate and contribute their ideas openly regarding the pros and cons of the approaches and methods adopted for the accomplishment of tasks.
• Increasing Efficiency: A group and team approach leads to lowering of cost for the organization, as groups and teams have a capability to achieve more with the collaboration of the abilities of all members.
• Compensating Weaker Areas: Working in teams showcases the strengths of the associated individuals and also helps in compensating each other’s weakness. This creates more skilled and stronger workforce.
• Improving Relationships: Members of team acquire greater understanding and amiability towards each other that helps them to improve relationships outside the office as well.

1.3 Choose two processes used at the nursery. Map the first one using the Systems Analysis process mapping technique. Map the second one using the mapping technique of the Intel Case. Which of the two techniques do you consider more suitable for the nursery? Justify your choice.

In the business environment, one of the best things is that the companies get a choice in the ways in which they want to perform their operations. These choices proves to be the best thing that happens to the organizations since they get to choose the way in which they want to run their companies and therefore have some control over the operations and the results of the operations of th4 company. The same choice is extended to the field of nurseries in the way they want to conduct the operations of the nurseries to take care of the children who spend their day in the nursery. The same choice is extended to The High Five Nursery(Kuhlenschmidt, Layne, n. d.). Systems Analysis process mapping technique is a choice in which the management decides to have a common conduct rule towards all the children. The mapping technique of the Intel Case is choice in which the nursery decides to have special rules laid out as per the preference of the kids. The best option that could be taken up by The High Five Nursery is that they have system analysis approach for all children and have special rules laid down for the children with special needs.(Patterson, Grenny, McMillan, and Switzler, (2011)

The first and the foremost thing that has to be done by the management of the various organizations is that they have to understand the needs and the demands of the people and this can be done by conducting the various surveys and interactions and also by using the secondary sources of information that is available over the internet. Once this is done the management will have to make an inventory of the resources that are available at the disposal of the company and ensure that they used in the parallel lines of the demands of the people. The last thing will be to offer the products to the people in the right manner with the right amount of publicity and advertisement and also attain the feedback and the suggestions of the customers to make sure that whatever has been done by the company has been successful. A leader is honest with his work ethics and always raises the bar of his working skills and honesty. A leader trusts his team and its ability and delegates the responsibilities by analysing the capability of all the team members. A leader has an effective communication skill so that he can clarify and explains the exact goals and how to achieve them.A leader is confident enough to deal with all the crisis situation and boosting up the whole team by motivating them. A leader is always committed towards his role in the organisation and motivates the subordinates by setting up examples for them.To keep the energy level high, a leader always possesses the positive attitude. A leader is creative in the decision making process so that the team can handle any situation at any time. A leader always looks beyond the present situation and has an intuition to go through every crisis by applying the forecasting with his experience.

2.2 Include a Gantt chart highlight key steps

In this part of the question I will draft a Gantt chart that will have a full plan that will support me to bring the necessary changes in my organization of The High Five Nursery and as a developing manager of the nursery I will make sure that the plan is carried out in the best possible manner.

As a manager of The High Five Nursery I need the support of the employees of the management as well the resources of the management to implement the above mentioned plan in a way that will make sure that the working of the nursery is improved and we are able to meet our goals and plans.(Alijifi, n.d.)

2.3 Explain how potential limiting factors and scarce resources might impact upon achieving the output of the Gantt chart.

Like we have discussed in the previous question, we have managed to establish the fact that every organization gets the choice to choose the process that they want to follow to complete the operations of the company and this is one of the biggest benefits that is available to any management in the business world but at the same time there are also some issues that a business management has to encounter during the tenure of the company in the market and one of the biggest issues in the list is that the limitations that the company will have to face in performing the operations of the company. In The High Five Nursery we also have to face certain limitations and as a manager, it is my duty to ensure that we are able to overcome the limitations and we are able to perform our best. It might be an issue for us to accomplish the goals that we have set in the Gantt chart because since our area of operations is very small, we do not have enough resources at our disposal o divert them towards another direction to attain the goals that we have set in the Gantt chart. (Patterson, Grenny, Maxfield, McMillan, and Switzler, 2014)

Manage health and safety in the workplace.

4.1 Highlight and briefly summarise key health and safety legislation affecting the nursery

In the business world, there are definitely some rules that have to be followed by all the organizations and these rules have been laid down by the government and the national authorities to make sure that the people that are involved in the market are safe and sound. In the similar way, there are many rules that have been laid down for the nursery sector and it is the duty of the management of the various nurseries to make sure that they follow all the rules to the best of their ability so that it is for sure that the life of the children is in safe hands and they are healthy and well taken care of at all times(Wiman, Helander, and Westland, 2002). As a manager of The High Five Nursery, it is my duty to make sure that the children are well taken care of at all times and they are able to provide for the needs of the children and at the same time we also have to make sure that whatever we are doing is in the lines of the rules laid down for the sector. This includes proving them a safe and clean environment and healthy food and beverages. When it comes to the welfare of the people involved in the business, the government of untied kingdom has laid down many strict laws that have to be followed by all organisations at every second and these laws revolve around the health, safety and environmental measures. 4.2 Develop a check list / audit of key risk factors that might affect the nursery

In order to make sure that my organization of The High Five Nursery is the best in the field of nursery caring and also that along with the status that we have in the market we are also able to live to the expectations of the parents that leave their children in our care. To make sure that we do not miss any point that might be important, in this part of the question I will make a check list that will help me to remember to cover all the points and once all the points will be covered we will be able to have a good and successful nursery.(Vaughn, 2006)

• A clean and hygienic business environment in which the children are safe from catching all the infections that runs in the nature.
• To provide the children with good and healthy meals that will take care of the nutrition demands of the children and at the same time make sure that the meals are prepared as per the tastes of the kids.
• To have all means of entertainment that will make sure that the kids have a good time at the nursery and also that they learn something from their entertainment. (Boundless, n.d.)

Conclusion

In the end of this assignment, I can say that I have covered all the points that could have been important for the success of The High Five Nursery which is the new organization that I work for as a manager.
